Day 152 / 153 of chaos, violence, mayhem, shooting etc or day 275 / 276 – Saturday 10th, Sunday 11th June

A comparatively peaceful weekend for us….security patrols continued both by vehicle and on foot – 1 break in boundary stonewall on Saturday and ZERO breaks Sunday.
So desperately dry now and cattle hanging in – all went through the sprayrace get rid of ticks and flies to help control any tick borne disease….cattle not looking great but looking ok – leaving the boma is more out of habit and for exercise now as finding enough grass is increasingly difficult and they look forward to being fed their ranch cubes, hay, maize stalks when we can get it and hydroponic barley. Our last load of hay has come all the way from Ukambani !!!
The barley is going really well now…..upto a return of 4.4kg for every 1kg seed in 9 days and the cattle now love it – and more importantly we can see a marked improvement.
